Ryan Yucka is the Head Coach at the Attleboro location. Ryan comes to the Bluefish with 10+ years of coaching experience at YMCA's in Western Mass. He has coached every level of the sport and loves to work with all age groups. Recently, Ryan spent 7 years as head senior coach for the Greater Holyoke YMCA, who finished in 3rd place at the 2011 Y nationals, as well as Head coach at Holyoke Catholic High School. During his time in Holyoke, Ryan coached mostly sectional level swimmers, a few Jr. national and Senior national qualifiers as well as the teams first female Olympic Trial qualifier. Ryan graduated from Westfield State University and is a ASCA level 4 coach.
Coach Jacob joined Bluefish in Spring of 2023 and adds more than twenty five years of combined coaching and competitive swimming experience. Jacob has coached at nearly every level, having worked with brand new swimmers as young as six in age group programs across Western Massachusetts (Northampton Area Swimming, Hampshire Regional YMCA, and Pioneer Valley Aquatics Avengers), adults into their sixties and beyond while coaching masters at the Greater Holyoke YMCA, and many ages in between having also coached Northampton and Ludlow High School teams to local successes. He has had a multitude of swimmers that have become state champions, New England record holders, and All-Americans. Jacob was also named the 2023-2024 EMISCA West-Central Coach of the Year for his contributions to the Ludlow High School team. Despite all of the accolades he and the swimmers he has coached have racked up, the focus has never been on the results. Rather, the attention is on how setting and working towards goals can lead to success in the water as well in life beyond the pool. Ultimately, helping shape well rounded people through the sport of swimming is the most fulfilling aspect of the job. That is why he is equally proud of all the successes his athletes attain outside the sport, educationally, personally, and in every disipline.
